Island Breeze Performance

This morning Glen Taylor had a visit from Island Breeze. They’ve been around the world and saved New Zealand for last. This performance that they shared with us was fantastic. All of them come from different places but their group is from Hawaii ( That’s where I’m going at the of the year ). They had different performances one was a Samoan dance another one was a Cook Island and last but not least a Hawaiian dance. My favourite had to be the Samoan dance cause my friends and I kinda felt a vibe going on and Not just during the Samoan dance but through out the whole thing.

Read Theory

Task Description:

Today for reading we did Read Theory. Read Theory is a site that has reading on it and it helps you develop your reading skills and how to read for understanding.  This is a task that I was on but now have finished. On the side there’s question for you after you read the paragraph. if you answer the question correctly you will get a check mark at the bottom right of your screen and if it’s wrong it will be a letter x. This is my task that I did today (By the way Room 13 did three today). I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at my reading work for this week. I would really appreciate if you could leave me a comment/feedback thanks and have a good day/week.

Matariki Art

For the past few weeks Team Tui have been doing art. So in Room 13 and we did Stars. We could pick 3+ stars and draw about it. The stars I have chosen are Waiti, Waita which are the twins that represent water and sea animals like sharks turtles and ETC. Next Ururangi which is the god of wind and all types of air even gas. Lastly Waipunarangi which is the god of water falls and rain. This my art that we presented today at assembly. Friday the 4th of August 2023.

Matariki

Ni Hao, Whoever’s reading this, I hope you’ve had a good day.

This week we wrote a poem based on Matariki. Basically all we had to do was pick five stars but there are 9 Stars. Those nine stars are Waiti, Waita, Waipuna Rangi, Tupu a nuku, Tupu a rangi, Pohutukawa and Hiwaiterangi. My poem contains the stars Ururangi, Waipunarangi and the last three are combined and they are Tupu a nuku, Tupu a rangi and Waita.
